Have you ever wondered how the sports game "smart money" became smart money? Do you wonder what sports betting smart money makes different than amateurs?
Here is an example of a game I reported and how I went to decide which team had the edge. When you can highlight the edge, it's easy to earn money with sports betting:
UAB vs. SMU-5
First, start to start pointing out that while one of these teams is a powerhouse or even a 25-member team. UAB is 3-5 SU in this season and is only 19 points in game against teams like Marshall, Troy and Rice to name a few. Miracle, UAB opened its season against Oklahoma and lost only 24-17 in a game where they were 24 points undirdogs. Since this game, UAB is only 1-5-1 ATS in its last seven games, and it was when they beat Troy (who ever heard of a college named Troy ??) 21-3.
However, SMU plays home tonight and they have been well-known ATS over this period and go 4-3 to ATS. SMU is 6-3 ATS in their last nine games and also 6-3 ATS in their last nine home games.
As with any college game, it's always easy to see how well the teams work at home. The world, depending on who is playing, can be a very important tactical advantage. My opinion of entering this game was that SMU had a certain world-class advantage that would make them a decent choice to oppose poor UAB teams.
So how was the start-up comparison to reality? Does the SMU have real potential for empire?
What about this stat page from leaving 6-3 ATS in its last 9 home games, SMU has scored 31, 55, 45 and 40 points in their last 4 home games. In the last 4 home matches with a penalty shootout, SMU has scored against its opponents on average 31-13, but the team level in these games has on average only the SMU being supported by -3 points.
In other words, in the last 4 home games of the SMU, they have not only won ATS, but they beat SPREAD on average of 15 points per game.
The last piece of puzzle is UAB record away. They are only 3-7 SU in their last 10 games and 5-5 ATS. They were actually closed by Georgia a few weeks back and missed SU in Rice 34-33 in a match where they were supported.
The conclusion is that everything indicates that SMU can, and more importantly, tend to run home at UAB. I am looking for SMU to work this 41-28.
Although I do not see "officially" recommend betting over / under this game I will tell you I would lean over 49 1/2 if I was forced to take a side. Sometimes in a game like this is not a bad idea to change the amount you were betting on the game in two smaller bets, one in the game and one on top / bottom. Thus you are at risk of the same amount but your risk is spread between two relatively independent results, the game itself and over / under.
As can be seen from the above analyzes, it is important to dig deep into the situation to identify any pattern. In this case, the situation showed that the SMU was a very strong team at home and that UAB was very weak on the road. As it turned out, SMU won 22-9, holding UAB out of the end zone all night.
